Suddenly, I wasn't just a 'biology graduate'; I was a skilled problem-solver, an analytical thinker, a clear communicator, and someone who could manage complex tasks under pressure. It also helped to consider what kind of working environment I actually enjoyed. Did I thrive in quiet, focused work, or did I prefer collaborating? Was I happy behind a desk, or did I want a role that involved being out and about? Thinking about these preferences helped me tailor my job search to roles that genuinely excited me, even if they weren't 'science' in the traditional sense.
